I’m sitting here wanting to write a posting and my mind is drawing a blank. So…I thought I would write about that.

We are in a very surreal situation. I don’t think question marks have been this plentiful globally in my lifetime. Not only individuals are wondering what is going to happen and what the future will hold. Companies and nations are pondering the same questions on different levels.

• Covid-19, the enemy that we still don’t know enough about to conquer.
• Economies that are being strained to the limit.
• Politicians who seem to lack ideology and integrity.
• Relationships on so many levels; personal, professional, regional and international, are being put to the test.
• Issue that need to be addressed other than Covid-19: Systemic racism being one of them, but so many other issues as well.

These are just a few issues that we are all very much aware of.

If you are like me, a shaker and a mover, someone who likes to make a difference and not just sit around and moan. Then you are probably frustrated as well from time to time?

As I was out for a hike on a mountain by the sea, my eyes gazed on the horizon and it made me feel overwhelmed. It reminded me of times when I have been sitting in waiting rooms at hospitals, not able to do anything but wait. That feeling when it’s itching and you get impatient. You try to think rational thoughts, but the question marks are so many that you give up.

So here I am in the waiting room, mind is blank. The only thing I can control is my day. My here and now. Carpe Diem – seize the day – make the most out of the things I can manage.

Being in the waiting room means just that – WAIT – Be patient – Don’t try to do things I’m not able to do. Give myself a break.

We all know that “drawing a blank” is not a chronic condition. A waiting room is not a permanent dwelling.

The music of Sam Cooke is blasting in my ears right now: “A change is gonna come!”

So, I am sitting in the waiting room with my currently blank mind trusting that change will come, or for those of you who know me: Creativity and motivation will come so we can make the changes we want and need. No one is going to do it for us.

Have a brilliant day!
