Have you ever been with a person and seen a pain in their eyes? Not very noticeable, but it’s still there. This guy at the training studio I frequent has that. I’ve been itching to evoke the story, but I don’t know him enough.

Then a few weeks ago, we were having a coffee at an outdoor café after training. I showed him a video clip of my granddaughter having fun in a pool. He smiled, but I noticed that his eyes watered.

Being a people person with good intuition, I did a complex reflection and said:

“You really want to be a dad, don’t you?”

Bulls eye! He shared with me his deep yearning to be a parent.

I listened and showed empathy. Went home. Did my research and used my network. Put the word out.

In the beginning of this week I received an e-mail. There is a 7 months old little boy who needs a loving home in a safe house that I have worked closely with. I’m now going to connect the dots and make sure that this little boy will be with his new loving dad here in Benidorm, Spain as soon as possible.

Adopted princes and princesses are not the second best! They are the best! Like all children on God’s earth!

Have a brilliant day!
