I remember the AIDS crisis. I used to be so puzzled over why some HIV infected individuals developed AIDS and dies very quickly. Others hardly got any symptoms at all.
I also remember all the speculations. Self-made experts popped up everywhere. The arrogance. The theories of conspiracies. People were reduced to numbers and statistics.
History repeats itself with Covid. Questions without answers and people driven by fears. Collective crisis reactions.
We all interpret what happens to us in live. Our interpretations can look very different. We are all unique. Our bodies react differently to virus. Even when it comes to crisis and traumas, we react in different ways emotionally and psychologically depending on who we are. Human beings are complex indeed.
Let us never forget that each individual is the expert on his or her own life. We may never steal a person’s interpretation from a person. The best support we can give each other is to NOT come up with or deliver answers, but to be present with people in the midst of the questions.
Have a brilliant day!
